When he moved to Mexico he wanted a local nickname and so he asked the local jefe, Don Jesus, what would be a good one for him. Don Jesus looked at him and said, “Well, you look like an Iguana.”

It started with an interview that I listened to with Mickey Munoz. It was one of SURFERS JOURNALs “Soundings” offerings. Mickey has been one of my very best friends in life since I was a kid and he recruited me to surf for “Ole” Surfboards in Seal Beach when I was about 14.
