Corky Carroll Mola Scottyboard
One of our regular clients, Scott Ellis, requested that Corky and Jose design him a 48" x 24" polyurethane fiberglass custom high end belly board, utilizing the best materials available, sparing no expense. The end result was our CC BMS Scottyboard. It apparently worked out pretty well as Scott immediately ordered a second one.
This is definitely not your kid's Tea-Bag Boogie Board! Scott wanted a long board alternative when the surf in Northern California was pumping. As he regularly surfs Ocean Beach, San Francisco, we utilized S-glass for added strength.
What we never imagined is the biggest demand for these CC Molas would actually come from ex surfers that "lost their get up and go" because of age, knee, or back injuries. This exciting new water craft will rekindle your surf stoke and get you back in the water again.
Since we made the Scottyboard Mola one of our production models, it has amazingly became our most popular model for 2024 as well as 2025. It's available to the public in 2 variations. Standard Mola and Full blown Scottyboard Mola.
Corky's standard Mola version includes a premium dual stringer US blank (pictured), nose leash plug, super strong S-glass, the concave turbo tail channels, and Corky's Mola painting for $849.
The CC Mola Scottyboard configuration has everything the standard Mola has but also adds an FCS built-in SUP carry handle, glassed on Marine rope, and deluxe SUP deck pad. The Scottyboard version also features an extra leash plug on the rear. Fins are not included but available wholesale for as low as $25 pair for Futures.
Why do these cost more than lots of our shortboards? The shaping process takes longer than a conventional board as the needed width requires starting with a 6'7" blank. The lamination process alone also takes twice as long as doing a long board too. This is because of the turbo channels on the bottom, the FCS built in SUP handle, but mostly the two marine rope handles which require about 3 hours additional labor. Did I mention we also include two leash plugs on our Scottyboards? One on the nose for those who prefer arm or bicep leashes. One on the rear for people (like me) that prefer a 5 or 6' leg leash. For those who want an incredibly well constructed one-of-a-kind product, this is a small price to pay to get your stoke (and health) back.
