Corky Carroll on guitar
Corky's mom made him take piano lessons when he was little, his teacher wanted him to play classical, but he wanted to play rock n roll and blues.  Around 13 years old he picked up the guitar and never put it down, getting serious about performing and recording music around 1970, toward the last few years of his professional competitive surfing career.  In 1975 he put together Corky Carroll and the Funk Dog Surf Band, which led to Corky Carroll and the Tropics which led to the great Corky Carroll and the Coolwater Casuals band in the late 1970’s.  Together with musical partner, the legendary Chris Darrow, performed all over Southern California into the early 2000’s.  Corky was the house musician at DUKE’s on the pier in Huntington Beach for years before moving to Mexico in 2003.  Today he performs regularly around the Zihuatanejo area as well as occasional concerts in the U.S.  He also continues to write and record music, his latest album “BLUE MANGO,” as well as most of his previous albums, is available from Darla Records, on iTunes, Amazon and other music sources. ​
