BMS Joelito HP Ultralite
Mike Purpus asked us to build him a lighter eps/epoxy version of his beloved, "Big Red". He loved that board but it was not lightweight. One of his primary reasons to upgrade was to make it easier to get up and down the cliff at his secret spot. As I struggle to get up and down that hill too, I asked Jose and team to whip up a super light high performance eps/epoxy swiss army knife of a longboard for me. I wanted the ability to ride as a quad, single fin, and 2+1 which I got with the 4+1 box setup. Because these eps blanks are insanely light, I had it glassed heavier than normal with double 4oz s-glass on the bottom and double 6oz s glass on the deck. If you order one, they come standard like this so don't add s-glass as an option.
My new board got laminated before I could provide the new model name. As a result, Jose took the liberty of naming it the "Joelito" since it was designed for me. I can't wait to hit the trail with my new secret weapon.
