Corky Carroll Prowler
Unlike round tails, pin tails, and swallow tails, wide square tails offer far more tail flotation which translates to easier paddling. It's also much easier to catch waves and you get immediate speed out of the gate, no pumping necessary, and far less loss of speed in flat or slow sections. Corky and Jose came up with this design in the spirit of "Making Surfing Really Fun Again". If you've lost the stoke and need a fresh dose, this board is for you.
Corky's PROWLER actually incorporates a slight diamond with a double concave bottom. This creates a subtle V in the tail for added control which is needed as this model is lightning fast. Wide in the tail and with rails that are hard from the front fins back offers you solid bite while maintaining maximum speed. We can put any type of fin box in this model but recommend and use Future by default. The larger quad fin sets seem to work best, particularly the Future Controllers and the Rastovich quad fins. This Prowler pictured has double 4oz s-Glass on the deck and 6oz S-Glass on the bottom for strength and lightness.
